Our Mission
We, of the Verona Family Child Care Association, are a network of child care professionals who support each other, train together and promote quality child care.
Our Goals:
- Positively affect the quality of child care in our community by:
- Offer professional support to all family child care providers (regulated and unregulated) who are located in and around the Verona community by:
- Heighten community awareness regarding our major role in the child care delivery system by:
-encouraging city, county or state regulation
-providing training opportunities to our members
-encouraging and recognizing individual and professional accomplishments
-providing benefits such as training scholarships, health care and retirement match funds
-increasing active membership in VFCCA
-discussing program management ideas and solutions
-exploring problematic situations constructively
-planning group trainings based on needs of members
-supplying resource materials
-prompting social encounters between caregivers
-acknowledging personal growth
-assisting families to find child care
-planning and organizing conferences for regional child care professionals
-developing and maintaining the association professional website
-prompting positive publicity in local newspapers and trade newsletters
-organizing and supporting advocacy on child care issues
Membership
VFCCA offers two "levels" of membership — Member of VFCCA or Friend of VFCCA.
Meetings of the Verona Family Child Care Association are open to any and all child care providers, however becoming a "Member" or "Friend," offers additional benefits:
A VFCCA Member must be:
- a family child care provider
- up to date with payment of association dues ($25.00 per year, January to December)
Benefits of Membership:
- Publications and meeting information
- Training opportunities at monthly meetings
- Support, comraderie and professional advice and mentoring from experienced providers
- Eligible for training scholarships (specific criteria must be met)
- Inclusion in Website Referral List (specific criteria must be met)
- Voting privileges
- Eligible to hold office
- $10 toward VFCCA holiday dinner in December
Family Child Care Providers who wish to become members of VFCCA should print off the Membership Form, check Member Of VFCCA option, and mail the form with your yearly dues in the amount $25 to VFCCA's Treasurer.
A Friend of VFCCA:
- can be Child Care workers, Center staff & Administrators, parents, or other community members and organizatons who are interested in supporting quality child care
- up to date with payment of Friend of VFCCA dues or donation ($10.00 minimum per year, January to December)
Benefits of Becoming a Friend of VFCCA:
- Training opportunities at monthly meetings
- Fellowship and professional advice and mentoring from experienced providers
- Support quality in the child care delivery system
Persons or organizations who wish to become Friends of VFCCA should print off the Membership Form, check Friend of VFCCA option, and mail the form with a check to VFCCA's Treasurer.
